My Bio
Everett
started in the real estate industry in 1973, selling homes, and building
apartments, townhomes and single family subdivisions. He was one of the youngest real estate
brokers in the Seattle
area and was certified as a real estate assessor in 1975.
In
1980 Everett
moved into finance and in 1982 was transferred to San Antonio.
In 1986 he was recruited as president of a startup mortgage-banking firm
in Dallas and
built it into a fully functioning mortgage lending and servicing company,
selling and servicing loans for Fannie Mae.
He is a veteran originator and operations manager with years of
experience in retail, wholesale, correspondent lending and back office
operations. He has developed software
for: Truth in Lending, Pipeline Management, Secondary pricing, Lock management,
Servicing including initial escrow setup and management, REO, and Construction
Lending departments and he is an experienced conventional and DE underwriter.
Everett was active in the Texas mortgage brokerage
industry prior to the formation of TAMB and participated in its formation and
has served multiple terms on its Board of Directors. He has been the TAMB Legislative Chairman and
Legislative Director and participated in most of the national lobby events,
organizing the Texas contingent. He
lobbied and testified in the Texas House and Senate on behalf of mortgage
brokers regarding Home Equity, Broker Licensing, Foreclosures, Predatory
Lending, Credit Reporting and many other issues.
Everett is also a mortgage
consultant with a business that focuses on Texas.
His clients have been large and small, banker and broker as well as
other affiliated businesses. He has
assisted lenders of all sizes in their license applications for both mortgage
broker and second liens. Today his focus
is on building, expanding or re-building mortgage companies of all types.
