Principal Elevation Features - Windows

  • Windows visible from the public right-of-way (except bathroom or kitchen windows)
    • shall maintain a minimum vertical to horizontal dimension ratio of 2:1; and
    • minimum 1 over 1 light division
    • casement windows may be used provided the vertical dimension is maintained
  • Decorative windows shall not exceed 8 square ft
  • A minimum of 25% of the surface area of each story on the front facade shall be dedicated to window openings
  • When repairing or replacing original windows, the original window opening size shall be maintined
  • Wood window screens are preferred, however: aluminum, vinyl and other metal screen frames may be used
